Job Description

Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology. 

Arcadis is seeks an Architect with command of the government market and extensive project delivery experience to join its Government & Civic Practice Group in the Washington DC office. This position is focused on overseeing the project's conceptual design and technical support, and serving as a resource to the project team through preliminary design, schematic design thru construction administration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Understands all phases of design documentation and construction 
  • Understands federal design specifications 
  • Plans, coordinates and manages the project development process of government projects 
  • Manages and mentors staff for design quality, technical detailing, and presentations 
  • Negotiates critical and controversial issues with appropriate parties 
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other lead professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with projects expectations 
  • Mines existing government IDIQ vehicles for future task orders 
  • Serves as a key contributor during client meetings and presentations 
  • Travels as needed for client meetings, conferences, and internal strategic meetings 
  • Supports proposal development process, as needed 
  • Adopts company-wide processes for customer databases, relationship management, and customer experience 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Architect 
  • 10+ years of related experience 
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all clients and employees 
  • Ability to produce and direct work 
  • Strong technical background 
  • Revit proficiency throughout conceptual, schematic, design, and construction phases 
  • Solid working knowledge of building codes 
  • Experience with Sustainable Design and Energy Modeling preferred 
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • LEED accreditation preferred 
  • Professional registration required 
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
