Description

Premier Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is looking for an Athletic Trainer (ATC) to work at our Chester County Orthopaedic (CCO) division. The 3 office locations within this division include sites in West Chester, PA, Kennett Square, PA, and West Grove, PA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals to evaluate the patient’s condition.
  • Creates exercise and nutrition plans.
  • Collaborates with coaches, family members, and athletes to set health and fitness goals.
  • Designs rehabilitation and training programs for athletes
  • Uses knowledge of sports-related injuries to diagnose and treat athletes.
  • Refers athletes to doctors or other medical staff members as necessary.
  • Assists and monitors injured players as they heal and progress towards recovery.
  • Maintains records relating to athlete condition and training, diet, and treatment plans.
  • Handles clerical tasks, such as maintaining inventory, assisting with budgets, or restocking supplies.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training as well as a valid state license or certification.
  • Proven education or experience will be requested.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of Athletic Trainer experience in a clinic setting preferred

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid Athletic Trainer certification.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong understanding of the challenges athletes face, proper nutrition, sports injuries, and treatment options.
  • Understanding of first-aid treatments, massage, and physical therapy techniques and equipmen

SKILLS

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and attentive.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills

ABILITIES

  • Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally in order to educate patients about their athletic training treatments.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and desire to help patients.
  • Ability to analyze data and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
