HOK is looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our Onsite Services team. This position will be located at the client site in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will provide, and/or support, the production of comprehensive facility occupancy planning services and space planning deliverables that meet the client's business and real estate needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generates test fit layouts and concept designs in accordance with client guidelines, with minimal assistance.
- Supports development of occupancy plans for the client, demonstrating a keen ability to collect information and translate it into a comprehensive floor plan concept and design that communicates the solution into a layout for the client.
- Develops furniture plans to support the occupancy plan and interfaces with furniture supplier for the provision of furniture in support of a move.
- Communicates positively with client, responding appropriately, and working independently to develop the solution.
- Supports complex facility occupancy planning (e.g. analysis, options development, evaluation, recommendations).
- Maintains awareness of workplace design and furniture trends and innovation.
- Document client meeting information visually, numerically and verbally at an acceptable quality level.
- Maintains an understanding of local business character and evolutionary needs.
- Ensures occupancy information is updated and accurate.
- Knows and understands client specific service delivery work processes and responsibility distribution.
- Some travel may be required.
- Some overtime may be required.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in English language.
- Distil complex information to the essential for client decision making, with input.
- Ability to complete tasks and produce deliverables independently with periodic supervision.
- Write client reports and deliverable text clearly and comprehensibly.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Qualifications
- BA in Architecture, Real Estate, Interior Design or Planning, Engineering.
- Professional certification in facility management, interior design, engineering or architecture preferred.
- Ten years’ experience in the design industry, with two years previous experience occupancy planning.
