Job Description
Global Tire Repair is a division of ITW (Illinois Tool Works Inc.), a US based, NYSE listed corporation. We are a leading manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of premium chemical products to the automotive maintenance and repair, home, and hardware markets. Product categories include Tire Sealants, tire inflator kits, and accessories.. We seek a Chemical Mixer to join our Manufacturing team on 1std Shift to support the Slime® production at our Solon, OH facility. The hours for this position are from 7:00AM – 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Overtime as needed/required.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Manufacturing material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions.
- Inspection and recording of finished batches.
- Maintaining material lot control information board.
- Monitoring integrity of mixes and shutting down operation if out of compliance.
- Cleaning mixing equipment between batches.
- Bulk filling of 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes as required.
- Assisting on production lines as needed.
- Assisting in training of new mixers.
- Computer experience and lift truck experience are required, must be able to understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.
- Physical demands will include but are not limited to constant standing and walking throughout shift, occasional lift/push/pull up to 65 pounds, occasionally required to kneel, crouch, squat, twist.
- Promoting and following all safety guidelines and procedures, and recommending safety improvements as needed
- Recommend any process improvements that may help in your role.
- Maintaining good housekeeping at all times.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 3-4 years of batch mixing experience in sealants or related industry
- Both computer and fork truck experience
