Job Description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer (PIT) is a subject matter expert, who will be responsible for developing and executing value-based sales strategies aimed at increasing market share among significant end user accounts. The primary focus of this role will be on conducting manufacturing-level discovery within these accounts to identify opportunities for process improvement. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will effectively identify and document current manufacturing constraints in the welding environment and will develop, validate, and execute the most customer-advantageous solutions that will deliver value to the customer. Knowledge will encompasses a portfolio of leading brands and solutions, including Miller Electric Mfg. welding equipment, Hobart filler metals, Bernard, and Tregaskiss MIG guns.

Location: The  role is specifically focused on the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana geography.

Qualifications

  1. Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Welding Engineering.
    • Additional certifications in welding processes (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector - CWI) would be beneficial.
    • Overnight travel approximately 50%.
  2. Experience:

    • Extensive experience in manufacturing processes, with a specialization in welding techniques and technologies.
    • Proven track record in developing and executing value-based sales strategies within significant end user accounts.
    • Strong knowledge of welding processes, such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Resistance Spot Welding (RSW).
    • Familiarity with welding codes and standards, including American Welding Society (AWS) codes.
    • Experience in conducting weld quality inspections, including non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
    • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
  3. Skills and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to engage with plant-level and C-suite individuals to advance the execution of strategic solutions aimed at optimizing welding operations.
    • Utilize welding sales tools during manufacturing level discovery to develop customized ROI-based solutions validated through the demo stages of the sales process.
    • Collaborate with divisional and regional sales resources to create effective and measurable solutions, including customized product demonstrations for customers.
    • Coordinate the involvement of complementary resources (demonstration, training, installation, new product development, etc.) to support specific sales opportunities.
    • Build strong relationships with customers throughout the solutions process, fostering trust and shared risk.
    • Develop an understanding of each plant's business and operational challenges to identify new opportunities to add value.
    • Maintain effective communication between regional and divisional welding resources to provide local level support for customers.
    • Utilize CRM (e.g., Microsoft D365) and other tools to track progress and facilitate the timely adoption of customer solutions.
