Hillcrest Children and Family Center is looking for licensed professionals to join our growing school based program!
The School Based Therapist provides prevention, early intervention, and individual/family therapy services to students and the school community to remove mental health and behavioral barriers. The School Based Therapist is assigned full-time to the school and works closely with school counselors, staff, teachers, to support students and their families.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the professional educational team (teachers, principals, school counselors, etc.) at the school, working cooperatively and creatively to meet student needs and remove mental health and behavioral barriers to learning
- Provides individual and family services to include diagnostic assessment, treatment planning and therapy sessions to students who require individualized mental health services. Responsible for providing 20-25 hours of billable service per week.
- Makes appropriate referrals to services as indicated in the clients treatment plan
- Delivers early interventions to students who have been identified as having risk factors by facilitating student groups or providing consultation to caregivers and school staff
- Documents all services within 48 hours
- Adheres to all school and Hillcrest personnel policies
Position Requirements
- Masters in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field
- LGSW, LGPC, LPC, or LICSW license required
- At least two years of experience working with child/adolescent substance abuse and/or mental health clients within a culturally diverse population
- Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse population
- Knowledge of services and resources in the areas of mental health treatment and rehabilitation
- Ability to conduct individual, family, and group counseling sessions
- Fluency in both English and Spanish highly desired
As a NHSC certified site, eligible employees are able to receive up to $50,000 in student loan repayment.
