Responsibilities
- Engage in all facets of trial preparation, including strategy formulation, discovery, record analysis, client interviews, and witness preparation.
- Conduct comprehensive research on legal issues, people, businesses, and worksites.
- Draft briefs, memos, and client communications.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Travel nationwide for legal proceedings, client meetings, and other occasions up to 20% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
Qualifications
- Active license and good standing with the New York State Bar; additional bar admissions are a plus.
- 3-8 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably involving product liability or toxic exposures.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments, prioritize efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- High degree of independence and initiative, coupled with the ability to work seamlessly within a team-oriented setting.
