Vice President of Finance (Hospitality)

The Vice President of Finance (Hospitality) is to be a dynamic leader with extensive knowledge in hospitality operations, budgeting, forecasting, cost controls as well as engage in investment presentations and generation.  The position is also responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

 Management

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of and organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Work with payroll manager to ensure all outlets are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Management of cash flow
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Recommend and help manage benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. KPIs
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Maintaining the general ledger and preparing financial statements
  • Prepares detailed, rolling forecasts, reflecting revenue and expense management actions being taken resulting in strong flow through.
  • Leads F&B financial results portion of monthly operating reviews with GM and Ownership articulating informative descriptions of historical results and updated forecasts.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Provides monthly financial forecasts/reviews and critiques with GM and Hotel team.
  • Coaches and guides the budget process with the GM, including suggestive strategies to get to acceptable results.
  • Prepares Month End Profit and Loss Statements for F&B Operations.
  • Oversees Accounts Payable and Payroll functions for F&B Operations.
  • Prepares Daily Income Audit for all F&B Operations.
  • Prepares Month End Profit and Loss Statements for F&B Operations.
  • Work with accounting team to monitor all inter-company payables and receivables
  • Prepare F&B reports as requested by management.
  • Oversight of the accuracy of POS System data and investigating any discrepancies
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with the Food and Beverage management team
  • Attending Food and Beverage meetings to review and assisting with solving any cost related issues

Compliance

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
