Stillwell’s

Summary

The Dishwasher will be responsible for keeping the Hôtel Swexan kitchens neat and clean to uphold the dining experience. They assist other employees in the kitchen as needed and follow all sanitary and health-related protocols. They are efficient and have excellent time-management skills. They comply with all core values, policies, and guidelines set by Hôtel Swexan to ensure total customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Job Functions

Operations

  • Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.
  • Ensure working area is well maintained and that all equipment’s, materials and utensils are always in perfect working conditions. Reports any defect to management.
  • Must be Texas Food Handler Certified.
  • Follow HH food and beverage standards and procedures, using HH training manual.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and monitor those actions of others.
  • Operate the industrial dishwasher; Make sure all utensils and glassware are clean and up to par with Restaurant standards. Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary; Empty and clean all trash receptacles; Clean beverage machines when necessary.
  • Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources, Clean dish storage.
  • Assist other employees and kitchen staff as needed.
  • Preform opening, closing and side duties.
  • Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately.
  • Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate party.

Physical Demand

Sanitation and Equipment’s

  • Ensure that staff maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and HH requirements.
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and restaurant requirements.
  • Instruct staff in the correct usage and care of all machinery in the kitchen operation, stressing safety.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety policies.

Meetings & Communication 

  • Be available for any Restaurant mandatory meeting or training.
  • Ensures a smooth communication with all direct reports and other Restaurants Managers/supervisors

  • Is always neatly dressed and groomed, and always behaves and speaks according to HH Division and Harwood International standards of excellence and image.

Work Environment                                                                                                                                   

This job operates in a restaurant setting.  This role routinely uses standard kitchen equipment and may require the employee to be on their feet for an extended period. May require the employee to bend, lift and carry heavy items (up to 20lbs.) in a hot, humid environment.
