The purpose of your role as a Marketing + Communications Specialist
As a Marketing + Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting sales, business development and executive leadership by managing CRM database, ensuring these tools meet the goals and objectives of the company. Collaborates with business leaders to develop and manage proposal and pre-qualifications documents. Assists marketing communications team by creating marketing communications templates, continuously improving processes and helping leaders tell the Harris story. Although this position is located in the corporate office, this role supports additional offices as well. Accesses and utilizes CRM system for applicable materials as needed.
This role can be performed hybrid remote or fully in-office.
Proposal, pre-qualifications & marketing communications development & management:
- Reviews RFQ/RFP and determines collaboration needs and response strategy & timing.
- Works with the sales, marketing, and operations departments to solicit, review, and write responses to RFPs.
- Proactively partners with lead proposal contact to gain insights into the proposal requirements. Follows-up and reviews progress through to completion to meet proposal deadlines.
- Possesses knowledge of company, product and industry.
- Customizes content or writes, edits, proofreads, and produces proposal (electronic and/or hard copy) and interview materials (leave behind, PPT, etc.) based on proposal’s specific requirements.
- Develops and maintains project sheets and staff resumes to support the proposal process in partnership with the Marketing + Communications team. Ensures all references are appropriate and up to date within these materials.
- Creates proposals using InDesign and/or Publisher templates to maintain brand guidelines and company voice and tone.
- Documents and saves proposal in CRM database for future reference.
- Identifies and develops best practices for proposal operations, collaborating with fellow team members and business leaders to develop the best end-user proposal resources.
- Designs and develops customizable proposal and interview templates that adhere to brand standards.
Marketing Communications:
- Creates marketing communications templates and trains business unit team members on use.
- Champions branding and document standards; ongoing enhancements, uniformity, adherence, etc.
- Participates in the development and execution of marketing campaigns or promotions targeted at existing or potential consumers.
- Assists with PR, presentations, communications, events, etc. as needed.
- Develops marketing programs focused on a specific segment of the customer base.
- Drafts communications, develops e-mail/mailing lists from marketing databases, delivers messaging, and analyzes campaign performance.
- Plans direct marketing activities that extend across multiple marketing platforms
Systems Administration, Sales Support & Configuration:
- Initiates and manages the collection and input of marketing project information.
- Proactively manages all marketing communications content within the CRM ensuring information is up-to-date and available for use by any/all offices.
- Adds content to the system when new information is available.
- Monitors needed revisions to content to ensure brand standards, tone and voice are consistent and fully updated.
- Creates reports to support business development, sales and marketing operations.
What we're looking for in you
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications
- 1+ year of business proposal development experience
- 2+ years of CRM and/or CRM database experience
- 6+ years of Microsoft Office experience, including Microsoft Publisher
- 4+ years of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign experience
- Must be able to write clear, professional emails, and communicate effectively internally and externally

Pay Range: $54,282 - $81,423 annually
The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
