The purpose of your role as an Accounts Payable Supervisor

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible to provide leadership to our Accounts Payable department.  The AP supervisor will ensure that the department operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records regarding coding, approval and payment of invoices.  As a key member of the Accounting team, this position will serve as the liaison between the AP department, external parties, and internal teams.

This role can be performed hybrid remote or fully in-office, based out of the Harris corporate headquarters in St. Paul, MN or a regional office. 

Accounts Payable Management:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operation of the accounts payable function. Assign work across the team, monitor and analyze the processing of vendor invoices. Ensure processing and payment disbursements are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare weekly reporting of AP detail, monitoring invoice throughput, escalating issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, provide proper GL coding, invoice approval and disbursement of payment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment and vendor issues. Act as an escalation point for internal and external vendors.
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring proper internal controls exist. Ensure written documentation of daily / weekly duties of applicable AP processes and procedures.

Organizational Support, Process Improvement, and AP System Champion:

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, to work through initiatives, streamline processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the identification, development, testing and validation of AP data for ERP upgrades, conversions, and AP automation, ensuring accuracy of integrated data across multiple platforms.
  • Assist with special projects, AP research and ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Assist with the annual financial audit, preparing accurate audit support schedules, reports and deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Lead new system integrations, system upgrades, testing and validation, ensuring efficient procure to pay processes and proper internal controls exists.

Leadership:

  • Lead the hiring and training of new employees. Monitor, develop, mentor, provide growth and development opportunities.
  • Evaluate all remote and hybrid Accounts Payable members’ performance using metrics and other tools, holding them accountable to timely and accurate processing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendor and employees supporting a matrix environment.

What we're looking for in you

  • 3+ years of proven experience as an Accounts Payables Supervisor
  • 3+ years of established record of process improvement methodologies which result in organizational efficiencies.
  • 3+ years of extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable and accounting practices supporting construction operations and job cost
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience, including advanced experience with Excel
  • 3+ years of proven ability to lead, coach and mentor a team
  • Experience and understanding of general construction accounting preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

Pay Range: $67,852 - $101,779

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
