Your role as a Building Physics Intern

As a Building Physics Intern, you will apply environmental/ building physics knowledge gained through formal education to a professional work environment. Learn to analyze and quantify occupant comfort, energy use, carbon emissions, and operational performance. Gain exposure to a range of computational analytical tools used to numerically and graphically demonstrate impacts of physical or mechanical factors in the modelling of moisture, airflow and temperatures in the design of occupied or other sensitive environments.

  • Gain on the job experience and knowledge of building physics in the mechanical design process
  • Get a realistic job preview and explore other career opportunities within the Design + Engineering team
  • Get exposure to other departments and learn how your role impacts the business as a whole
  • Translate concepts learned in the classroom to real world experiences

What we're looking for in you

  • Must be a current student working toward degree in mechanical engineering, energy engineering, or related field.
  • Proven math, accuracy and detail-orientation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to identify problems
  • Awareness of sustainability and environmental issues
