WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Cook will prepare meals for the children assigned to our Unaccompanied Children Program in accordance with health and dietary requirements.
- Meal planning and ordering of food in accordance with health, dietary and cultural requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring food pantry is fully supplied for all meals.
- Check daily posted menus and prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner as assigned.
- Prepare meals according to modified diets and controlled portion sizes.
- Responsible for serving clients meals in accordance with their diets in a neat and attractive manner.
- Operate equipment such as stove, grill, conventional oven, microwave, food processor and meat slicer in a safe manner.
- Arrange food in steam table on time, and in a neat and attractive manner.
- Serve clients breakfast, lunch or dinner as assigned.
- Record all menu changes only with the approval of the Program Director.
- Wash pots and pans, clean counters, sinks, stove, refrigerator, freezer and equipment as assigned.
- Must ensure concise and timely completion of all paperwork.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school graduate or equivalent and one (1) year cooking experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole/French, highly recommended to meet the language demands for most clients
- Need experience planning and cooking meals for up to 50 people.
- Proof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 dose), Influenza (1 dose yearly), Tdap (1 dose). Must be COVID vaccinated.
