Gratiot County Commission on Aging is searching for a part-time Head Cook. We are committed to providing high-quality meals and a welcoming environment for our senior citizens. We’re looking for a talented and reliable Head Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep, inventory, and ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Collaborate with management on menu planning and specials
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook or chef; leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- ServSafe certification or equivalent (preferred)
