About the Position:

Department: Service

Reports to: Central Setup Coordinator

Purpose:

Assists in coordinating and directing the workload of the Central Setup Mechanics for maximum efficiency and productivity. Works alongside of Central Setup Mechanics and is expected to work on setting up equipment a high percentage of his time. Advises and recommends to the Central Setup Coordinator regarding technician skills and training needs. 

Responsibilities:

·Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Central Setup employees according to their skills and knowledge

·Spend a high percentage of engaging in the setup and pre-delivery of machines alongside of the Central Setup Mechanics.

·May review repair orders for accuracy and completeness

·Recommends new tooling as required

·Advises Central Setup Coordinator of all customer complaints

·Coordinates and schedules all in-house central setup mechanic training

·Assists the Central Setup Coordinator with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.

·May arrange for and participate in re-conditioning of used equipment.

·May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.

·May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Central Setup Coordinator

·May assist in the scheduling and completion of Product Improvement Programs

·May assist in completing warranty repairs discovered during setup on predelivery of machines.

·May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge

·Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

·Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.

·Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

·Maintains current knowledge of John Deere equipment and Gooseneck Implement short line equipment.

·Responsible for delivering a high-level customer experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·2+ years of experience performing setup and pre-delivery; demonstrate experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred

·Experience leading a team and working cooperatively in a team environment

·Experience using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures.    

·Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment.

·Experience with basic computer functions; Experience using Service ADVISOR™ Service Delivery preferred

·Experience communicating effectively verbally over the phone and in person, as well as in writing.

·Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities

·High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

·Experience with basic computer functions.
