The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling masonry related accessory product lines to architects, design professionals, contractors and other potential customers in their assigned territory. This requires developing relationships and calling on architects and masons in the territory, ensuring quotes and orders are processed, reporting monthly on the territory to the Regional Sales Manager and handling any customer issues/complaints.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network and collaborate with outside sales reps joining job meetings, cold calls and site visits to acquire more sales. Develop a working relationship with outside sales and their customers so you can assist with adding material onto orders. Gain an in depth understanding of our customer needs and convey that to purchasing and outside sales so we can adequately service our customers.
- Develop a stocking plan on materials and accessories to assist purchasing with maintaining appropriate levels of stock. Monitor stock levels on a weekly basis.
- Research our competition and establish a competitive pricing strategy that wins more sales and grows our customer base.
- Maintain our vendor relations by understanding all our partnerships. Become the expert on all their products and lead trainings and events for outside sales and customers.
- Research industry trends and add new products to our offerings when applicable.
- Work with inside sales to help them promote more material and accessory sales.
- Provide weekly reports and communicate to management sales and strategy updates.
- Work with location managers on generating more turns of their material stock.
- Create and update displays and marketing material in showrooms and retail locations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Highly motivated, self-starter who operates effectively without close supervision and utilizes resources to assist with accomplishing goals and objectives of the company.
- High level of interpersonal /communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good sales and negotiations skills with sales service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills with good follow through on leads.
- Thorough knowledge of company and competitor products for masonry accessories and material and their proper applications
- Hands on approach to problem solving regarding sales, service and promotion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of industry experience in masonry sales.
- Advanced computer skills. (NetSuite, Salesforce)
- Able to travel quarterly to west areas.
