GAI is seeking an individual with 8-10 years experience specializing in environmental contamination management and environmental compliance to join our talented and energetic team in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will work remotely in southeast or south central Wisconsin, but the position may also work out of GAI’s Green Bay office. An ideal candidate has experience:

  • facilitating proper disposal and documentation of regulated wastes,
  • assuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements at the local, state and federal levels, and
  • developing and maintaining client relationships in the Wisconsin utility markets.

Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. The primary work responsibility will be to provide task leadership and oversight of contaminant management projects, including soil and groundwater testing and analysis, oversee the proper management and disposal of electrical oil-filled equipment and universal waste, technical report preparation and documentation, permitting, project management and coordination, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and quality control reviews. This position will work under the direction of a Project Manager and will also be responsible for coordination with clients and regulatory agencies. In this position, you will be assisting in the delivery of projects from inception to completion and will ensure that they are delivered on time, on budget and of a high quality.

Job Duties:

  • Provide task lead support for all aspects of the project life cycle: planning, scope definition, execution, and delivery. The primary emphasis will be on contaminant management Additionally, project execution may involve sediment and erosion control planning; environmental permitting (local, state, and federal); and construction inspection and erosion control monitoring.
  • Tracks progress toward milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators.
  • Selects, negotiates with, and manages activities of external consultants, or vendors.
  • This role will be 40% field-based work and 60% office-based work.
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Experience and Education:

  • Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Biology, Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university, and 8 to 10 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices.
