Furnitureland South is seeking an Information Technology Intern with a special focus on AI research and development to play a vital role in our AI-driven initiatives. As an intern, you will actively participate in researching, integrating, and developing AI tools and services for various IT projects, contributing to cutting-edge advancements within the company.

You will join our dynamic IT team and become an integral part of it, engaging in challenging and meaningful projects. With the guidance of experienced mentors and collaboration with seasoned team members, you will gain hands-on experience in both Information Technology and AI research.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Assist in creating new reports to use companywide.
2. Gain experience in website development.
3. Collaborate on improving and/or rewriting data integrations, with a focus on AI applications.
4. Work with process and dataflow maps.
5. Gain and overall understand of the enterprise landscape at Furnitureland South.
6. Gain hands-on experience in various IT disciplines, particularly in AI research and development.  
7. Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

Must be enrolled in a four-year college/university or an individual enrolled in a two-year college with at least one year of relevant work experience. 

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Experience with AI Technologies and Frameworks:
   • Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI technologies and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
   • Practical knowledge of building and training machine learning models.
2. Proficiency in Programming Languages, Especially Python:
   • Proficiency in Python for AI development, including data manipulation, model training, and scripting.
   • Familiarity with libraries like NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib for data analysis and visualization.
3. Familiarity with Machine Learning Concepts:
   • Understanding of core machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
4. Experience with AI Research Projects or Coursework:
   • Previous involvement in AI research projects, either through coursework, personal projects, or internships, showcasing practical AI application and problem-solving skills.
5. Exposure to SQL, Business Intelligence, or Related Fields:
   • Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
   • Exposure to Business Intelligence tools or concepts, enhancing the ability to extract insights from data.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. This is an onsite position.
