***FULL-TIME PHYSICAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER - ORTHOPEDICS MEDICINE OPPORTUNITY***
We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at FREDERICK HEALTH ORTHOPEDICS MEDICINE.
This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 4:30p.

Job Summary:
The Orthopedics Advanced Practice Provider will provide support to our Total Joint Surgeon.
Will work in the office alongside the Total Joint Surgeon:
- In office responsibilities will include scheduled patient appointments for postoperative patients, preoperative patients, but will additionally see patients with concerns and administer injections.
- In the Operating Room, will provide First Assistant support, provide care according to orders as directed and in working with the Joint Works Nurse Practitioner.
- Will participate in preoperative preparation, attending preoperative conference, initiate orders and prescriptions.
- Will provide team workload support. Will assist with patient portal and telephone call responses, postoperative prescription refills as appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have knowledge of computer skills. Experience with prior electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
- Maintains the necessary CME credits to maintain licensure.
- Must demonstrate ability to stay organized; is able to multi-task effectively.
- Must demonstrate time management, conflict resolution, and trouble shooting skills.
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Physician Assistant: Certification of completion from an approved Physician Assistant program.
- Nurse Practitioner: Certification of completion from an approved Masters in Nursing program.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.
- Current DEA license.
- Current Maryland Controlled Substance license.
- Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or an approved training center.
- License to practice in any state that has never been suspended or revoked.
- Previous experience in an orthopedics or sports medicine practice preferred.
- Has not been excluded from participation from any Payers.
