Requirements
Current MD CNA License & CPR/BLS Card.
High School Diploma or equivalent-preferred
Must be available for 1 week hospital orientation (8:00am-4:30pm) & then orientation within the unit - to be discussed with the manager during an interview.
Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) functions within the Scope of Practice outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Helping patients with activities of daily living and other healthcare needs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the safe delivery of quality patient care, while supporting unit operations.
Duties:
Feed, bathe and dress patients.
Take patient vital signs.
Serve meals, make beds and keep rooms clean.
Set up medical equipment and assist with some medical procedures.
Answer calls for help and observe changes in a patient's condition or behavior.
Secretarial skills – working with computers.
Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team.
