The successful physician assistant will contribute to the success of the group by rotating to three ambulatory office locations, which provide care Monday-Friday 8a-5p, and sharing on-call duties. Candidates with experience in orthopaedic clinical care are required.

The PA provides the delivery of high-quality healthcare through developing and harnessing collaborate care teams to best serve the patient in the most cost-effective and appropriate way as well as the development and planning of efficient practice operations to help ensure appropriate same-day patient access to outpatient medical care.

Under the supervision of an attending physician, this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients, which will include, but not be limited to, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests, diagnostic studies, prescribing medications and providing assistance to the patient regarding a plan of treatment and education. Other duties include sharing call hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • NCCPA board certification required.
  • Orthopaedics experience required.

 Credentialing:

  • Must meet requirements set forth by the medical staff office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a physician assistant within UF Health Flagler Hospital and/or the UF Health Care Network, as applicable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as physician assistant (PA) in the state of Florida.
  • BLS is required.
