Job Description
As a valued colleague on our team, you will act as a team lead in the designing, producing, testing, or implementing software, technology, or processes, as well as lead processes for creating and maintaining IT architecture, large scale data stores, and cloud-based systems.

Fannie Mae seeks Software Engineer – Reston VA
- Develop solutions on the AWS platform using services such as RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, EB, IAM, SDK, CLI, Code Deploy, Code Commit, Cloudfront, and Cloudwatch.
- Implement new software technology and coordinate simultaneous implementation tasks across teams.
- Define and manage changes to documents, code, computer programs, websites, and other files to enable collaboration and ensure teams are working from the latest version.
- Determine causes of operating errors and take corrective action.
- Perform product testing including testing and evaluating software, usability testing, UAT, and using relevant product testing technology.
- Develop websites for hosting via intranet or Internet, which may include web design, web content development, scripting, network security configuration.
- Manage project plans and resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Advise, design business models, and interpret customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc.
- Perform product development to include designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping.
- Evaluate and designing controls, conduct impact assessments, identifying control gaps, and remediate risk.
- Identify measures, or indicators of system performance, and the actions needed to improve or correct performance to achieve desired outcomes.
- Mentor less experience team members.
This is a hybrid (work in office and at home) position.
Qualifications
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Req’d: Master’s in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering plus two years of experience in AWS Cloud software development using AWS services (including RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, EB, SDK, CLI, Code Deploy, Code Commit, Cloudfront, Cloudwatch), Java, J2EE, Spring, Weblogic, JBoss, Docker, REST, SOAP, Jenkins, Angular, and Agile practices. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills are also required
