Job Description

The New Lines Institute Curriculum Development and Instructional Design Department is seeking an Instructional Designer to support the curriculum development process across the institute. The Instructional Designer will initially be tasked with assisting in the migration of curriculum courses from face-to-face (F2F) delivery to online delivery. The Instructional Designer will also support the development of corporate relation partnerships with professional associations to provide external professional development offerings.

The Instructional Designer will report to the Director of Curriculum Development and Instructional Design.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

·         Support the curriculum development process, including the development of course syllabi

·         Assist in the development of online courses in the institute’s learning management system (LMS)

·         Ensure that all courses and course components are student-centered, enable the intended learning outcomes, as well as meet institute values/standards, accessibility requirements, and universal design guidelines

·         Apply best practices of Universal Design for Learning to assist instructors in the development of course materials that are accessible to all students

·         Apply best practices of constructivism and learning experience design to enhance learning across all levels

·         Contribute to the development of trainings/workshops and resources for instructors to improve instructional practices and course design; maintain a knowledge repository for instructors to assist with online teaching and learning tools; ensure tools and handbooks for new and continuing instructors are up-to-date

·         Conduct course quality reviews; provide recommendations for course improvements; promote good practices of teaching and learning with technology

·         Stay abreast of emerging technologies and their application to enhancing F2F and online courses; recommend effective and creative uses of technology and andragogy to enhance instruction and create new learning opportunities; support the implementation of solutions as appropriate

Qualifications:

·         A master’s degree in education, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, or a related field is required

·         At least 1-2 years of experience as an instructional designer or curriculum developer is preferred

Additional Information

This is not a remote position. The candidate must be local as this is intended to be an onsite position. The candidate will be permitted to work from home one day a week and will be required to work onsite four days a week. We cannot offer visa sponsorship at this time.
