Position: Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Medical Director

Location: Denver, Colorado (On-Site) at our Eating Disorder Juniper location

Job Summary:

The Medical Director at ERC Pathlight is responsible for ensuring the efficient and responsible day-to-day management of operations. This role works collaboratively with the executive team, management, and staff to maintain and improve the quality of medical and clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee medical and clinical programs through subordinate managers and staff physicians.
  • Provide direction and evaluation of hospital medical and clinical services.
  • Directly manage a team of physicians and psychiatrists, whether employed or contracted.
  • Carry a full case load, actively participating in patient care (not purely administrative).
  • Manage a case load of 18-21 patients in an Inpatient (IP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or Residential (RES) setting.
  • Participate in staffing meetings to discuss patient care and progress.
  • Gather and document patient medical history and progress.
  • Attend to patients admitted for treatment.
  • Administer or prescribe treatments and medications as required.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities within an organizational context.
  • Inspiring leadership skills with the creativity and vision to motivate staff and drive the Center toward fulfilling its mission and vision.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission standards.
  • Proficiency in planning, directing, delegating, and supervising a diverse workforce of professional and support personnel.
  • Experience in the treatment and management of eating disorders.

Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of a psychiatric residency program from an accredited medical school, with a child and adolescent fellowship required if applying for a position in a Child and Adolescent (C&A) facility.
  • Board eligibility in the appropriate specialty (board certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing Psychiatrist, required.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Director is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment or state of assignment.
  • Completion and maintenance of clinical competency standards.
