How You’ll Contribute:
As the Vice President, Investment Accounting, you will lead and direct the Investment Accounting team in achieving company-wide strategic and financial objectives. You’ll serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on leader—developing an investment data warehouse, overseeing financial reporting, and guiding a talented team of professionals. This role requires a collaborative leader with strong technical acumen, a passion for innovation, and the ability to drive excellence across investment accounting operations.
What You’ll Do:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of investment accounting professionals through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

Direct all aspects of investment accounting, including daily trade activity, portfolio earnings, investment funds withheld (reinsurance), IMR and AVR maintenance, and general ledger entries for multiple entities.

Oversee the design and management of an investment data warehouse to enhance automation, accuracy, and timely reporting.

Prepare and review financial investment portfolio reports, including STAT and GAAP statements, and provide reports to senior management, regulators, and rating agencies.

Partner cross-functionally to align accounting processes with strategic, operational, and customer service goals.

Coordinate audits with internal/external auditors and regulatory agencies.

Lead process improvements and automation initiatives to optimize investment accounting functions.

What You’ll Bring:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
-
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Experience:
-
Minimum 12 years of investment accounting experience, including 8+ years in a leadership role

10+ years of experience in the life and/or annuity industry
-
Proven experience managing investment data warehouses or enterprise data platforms

Prior experience preparing statutory financial statements (Blue Book)

Strong knowledge of investment accounting and operations systems (e.g., CAMRA/PAM, Clearwater)

Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and strong aptitude for learning new technology systems.

Physical Requirements:

Compensation and Pay Philosophy:
The pay range for this role is $200,850.00-$276,168.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range.
