Job Description
About the role
- 1st shift, 6:00am - 4:30pm
- Set-up, program and operate and machine parts per specified tolerance on CNC lathes and/or mills
- Analyze design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities
- Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths
- Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
- Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
- Use of overhead cranes to set up material on machines.
Qualifications
Education, qualifications and certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and certifications a plus
Experience
- Three- Five years’ experience in large-part machining and blueprint reading
- Experience in a job shop environment helpful
