Job Title:  Maintenance Mechanic (American Chemical Society)

Job Summary:  EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic at the American Chemical Society in NW, DC. for a Temporary Assignment lasting approximately 3 months.  This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance and service requests on building equipment, machinery and components located in the interior or exterior of the building.
  • Performs maintenance on plumbing in buildings including water and sanitation systems.
  • Project a positive appearance and attitude always. Demonstrate exemplary tenant relations, team spirit and respect of others.
  • Coordinates, escorts, and supervises company and client subcontractors while performing service on site.
  • Inspects all areas of the building and communicates effectively with Lead Engineer to determine service needs.
  • Performs painting and touchup work in various spaces throughout the building.
  • Possesses knowledge of safe and efficient operation of all equipment, power and hand tools.
  • Assists in snow removal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work overtime.
  • Must be able to work safely.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be willing to adhere to company policies.
  • 3 years of building maintenance experience.
  • Employee is responsible for complying with all life safety and OSHA requirements.

 Physical Demands:

The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade.
