Job Title:  General Maintenance Technician 

Job Summary:

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Tech in Cincinnati, Ohio. High quality standards is a must. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and possess good oral and written communication skills, professional appearance, and good attitude required.  Must be self-motivated and a self-starter. General handy man, Carpentry skills, replace ceiling tile replace and or repair locks, closures, repair walls, etc, painting, rubber base, carpet, and floor tile. Minor plumbing repairs unclog sinks toilets fix minor leaks. Electrical, replace ballast bulbs etc.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check equipment at the facility daily to make sure the equipment is running and in good working order.

  • Make repairs if necessary. This includes electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.

  • Completes general building repairs, including repair and painting of walls, doors, floors, etc. Completes repairs to plumbing system including fixing leaks and stoppages, repairs or replacement of sinks, piping, valves or drains and toilets

  • Replaces lighting components, ceiling tiles, and grid throughout the buildings and offices

  • Maintains building lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contractors, emergency lights/exit lights, and 120 volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior bldg. lighting and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system.

  • Maintain all equipment and inventory of product. In winter months, snow removal includes running snow

    blower and spreading Calcium Chloride.

  • Communicates directly with the customer and manager in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood, that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.

  • Repair and replace carpet tile & rubber base if necessary

  • Maintain other tenant space within the building, to the same expectations plumbing etc.

  • Maintains doors and door hardware, repairing or replacing if necessary.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates directly with the customer and manager in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood, that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.
  • Repair and replace carpet tile & rubber base if necessary
  • Maintain other tenant space within the building, to the same expectations plumbing etc.

Education:

HS diploma or GED equivalent; Vocational Tech, Trades School or Military Occupational Specialty preferred.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 4 – 6 years related experience
  • Must possess a valid driver license
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Competencies:

  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic addition and subtraction required for measuring and cutting materials to be incorporated into finished work.
  • Ability to work and communicate professionally in occupied space environments with a variety of customers.
