Job Title: Electrician

Job Summary:

In a safe, efficient, and professional manner the Electrician will support the Facility Maintenance Team in the preventative, corrective, and general maintenance of plant systems for the client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, assisting other trades in performing general equipment maintenance and repair, maintaining a clean working environment, and other various duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Manager, while adhering to all safety and health standards. The Electrician installs, trouble shoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices.  Has extensive knowledge of motor and motor controls, variable frequency drives, plc controllers, and power distribution systems. Should be familiar with low voltage and fire alarm systems.  Uses guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and EMCOR standard practices. Wears PPE and ARC Flash equipment while performing live troubleshooting evolutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists with installation and checkout of electrical and electronic components for systems and service installed jobs and service agreements associated with automatic building control systems, fire management, security CCTV, audio and energy management systems. May assist in emergency troubleshooting of systems
  • Performs daily lighting inspections and re-lamp as necessary
  • Installs or assist with the installation of conduit, wire, cable, equipment, components and devices associated with fire, security, and building automation systems. Installs and mounts electrical / electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components. Performs interlock wiring as required.
  • Performs wiring check out and assists with systems start-up. Performs tasks related to the panel fabrication. Disconnects and dismantles electric/ electronic instruments, panels, sensors, components, etc. as necessary.
  • Coordinates with or advises supervision about the requirements for material and supplies to ensure timely delivery to the job site. Assists with component and auxiliary equipment selection from outside suppliers.
  • Provides inputs and assists with preparation of as-built drawings. Responds to service and warranty calls and performs preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
  • Provides instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and routine inspections and assists with training and system acceptance.
  • Assists with electrical estimating, ordering and acknowledging job material orders, and job scheduling in work order system.
  • Perform other functions that may be assigned by manager.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Will be required to use ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork trucks and other equipment to accomplish the job.
