There is an opening for a Mechanical Engineer at Ellwood National Forge in Irvine, PA, however from time to time maybe assigned to work at the Corry/Warren plants.
The Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Managing of Capital equipment projects (new and re-builds), configuration, justification, location, installation and start-up
- Trouble shooting of equipment and in-house processes as required
- Developing and assisting with implementation of new and improved manufacturing methods
- Interface with and support production to achieve “Best in Class” practices
- Devise and implement process improvements and cost reduction
- Assist maintenance to improve equipment reliability and productivity
- Setting clear expectations for team members and evaluate needs of team
- Solve organizational and production problems.
- Research, develop, collect and report information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 year degree in Manufacturing Technology or Engineering or related field
- Experience in metal cutting operations
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Syteline)
- Ability to work independently (self-directed) on projects
- Ability to lead and direct team efforts
- Strong math skills and problem solving ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with installation and commission of newly purchased equipment and relocation of refurbished/existing equipment
- Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with medium and large machine tool builder and /or refurbishing operations
- Maintenance background
- BSME / BSMET
- EIT Certification
- CAM experience ( Mastercam)
