Eliot/MSPCC is looking for a master’s level adoption & child welfare professional who is interested in flexible, part-time, product based work conducting child assessments and home-studies.  Experience with child protection and complex trauma is essential and Bilingual capabilities are a plus.

Eliot/MSPCC’s Adoption Services facilitate the adoption process for foster children who cannot be returned to their biological parents by screening, assessing and providing training for prospective adoptive parents, evaluating children’s readiness for adoption and helping to match children and families. Post-adoption, search, reunion & correspondence services are offered for birth families and adoptees and MSPCC’s Adoptive Families Together offers continued education & support for adoptive parents.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct adoption assessments of children in state custody. 
  • Complete adoption home-studies of families interested in adopting through foster care.
  • Ability to work within complex systems with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Collaborate with multiple provider agencies to obtain necessary information.
  • Identify service gaps and breakdowns that impede coordination and communication between agencies.
  • Develop recommendations for a child’s permanent plan which must consider impact of history and trauma,  mental health needs, special education needs, attachment and possible contact with birth family members.
  • Provide education and consultation to prospective adoptive families through home-study process regarding short and long term clinical issues facing children placed for adoption.•Participate in meetings, trainings and evaluations as needed.
  • Participate in any mandated vendor or agency quality assurance activities as identified.

Flexible hours, paid upon completion of product.

$900 per product
