Our client, a prominent law firm with offices throughout New Jersey, has an immediate need for an experienced Workers Compensation Attorney, to join their winning team in New Brunswick.
Our candidate of choice will focus on the rights of the injured worker in matters pending before the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation. You will serve as an advocate and an ambassador to the applicants and claimants, and who will work positively and diligently for the client with the paralegals and legal assistants on the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters independently, including pleadings, discovery, remote and in-person court appearances, motion practice, trials, briefs, and appeals.
- Travel to compensation courts.
- Must have a Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
- Must be licensed and in good standing in New Jersey.
- Possess a strong academic record of 3.0 and above (preferred).
- Must have 3 years’ experience in NJ Workers’ Compensation cases, representing either Petitioners or Respondent.
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- An elevated level of organization is required.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and protect PII.
- Show flexibility, adaptability and empathy towards clients and colleagues.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Case Management systems such as Smart Advocate and Document Management systems.
- Possess tenacity, drive, and compassion.
- Ability to travel as needed between our offices and Workers’ Compensation courts.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to listen clearly, manage multiple caseloads and a team.
- Proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers and resolving property damage claims.
- Ability to trial cases and interact with clients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Must be willing to work in a challenging environment.
- Must have a Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
- Must be Licensed in New Jersey and New York.
- Possess a strong academic record of 3.0 and above (preferred).
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney.
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual in (English/Spanish) is a plus.
