Our client, a nationwide food manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their winning team in Haverhill.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for modifications and maintenance of equipment according to manuals and safety regulations. Additionally, the maintenance of facility, equipment and machinery including preventive maintenance position responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify the tools, equipment, skills used in industrial plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC.
• Manage preventative maintenance and equipment down time situations according to established procedures.
• Explain and apply the principles of fluid power and hydraulic systems and the associated equipment operations and maintenance
• Install and test electrical wires, circuits, and equipment using the correct equipment, materials, and procedures for safe operation
• Learn the concepts of welding fundamentals, gas. Arc, welding practices, and proper use of equipment
• All work is performed in a cold plant environment with areas of high noise levels, and wet floors.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum GED or High School, Technical School or Trade experience
• 1st/2nd Class Fireman License
• Experience in a Food Plant/Environment preferred , knowledge and general mechanical ability, basic electricity
• Hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC and industrial ammonia refrigeration systems ,Steam power plant utilizing High Pressure Boilers
• Wastewater pre-treatment processes and procedures, LOTO and OSHA Guidelines, basic computer skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment where a broad range of tasks may be required
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Possess a strong safety ethic
• Ability to work in a cold environment and in confined spaces.
• Stand for extended periods of time
