Our client, a highly respected multi-service law firm is seeking a Trust & Estates Associate Attorney, to join their winning team in Orange County.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with clients to understand their unique needs and objectives for estate planning.
  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents in accordance with client instructions and applicable laws.
  • Assist trustees and beneficiaries with the administration of trusts, including asset management and distribution.
  • Guide clients through the probate process, from validating wills to resolving disputes among heirs or beneficiaries.
  • Address legal issues affecting older adults, such as long-term care and Medicaid planning and guardianship proceedings.
  • Represent clients in trust and estate litigation, including will contests and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
  • Attend relevant events and conduct educational seminars for potential clients.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The successful candidate must possess:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in good standing.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience practicing Trust and Estate Planning.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and legal professionals.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to draft and review estate plans for clients, from simple to complex and advanced estate, gift, and tax plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and PerfectLaw preferred.
  • Must be able to work onsite at our Walden, NY office.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Admitted to the NJ State Bar, in good standing and accessible to NJ courts.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
