Our client, a nationwide leader in materials manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced Quality Inspector w a Machining background, to join their winning team in Dallas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and establish inspection processes that are cost effective and meet all quality and ISO9001 requirements.
- Day to day interaction with shop employees including all levels of management.
- Changing and improving processes to increase productivity and competitiveness.
- Program, Set-up and complete CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
- Responsible for online and offline programing of Calypso that will be utilized by other CMM operators.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), In-Process and Final Inspection for Assembly and Machining Departments to ensure conformance to all specifications.
- Perform Receiving and Outside process inspections as applicable.
- Assembles all necessary inspection documents to accompany shipments.
- Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and conduct system testing.
- Able to read engineering blueprints, Interpret GD&T and inspect parts.
- Issue Internal and Supplier Non- Conformance Reports, ECRs, CARs when defective parts/products have been identified and document in their respective logs.
- Assist on Customer Complaints during the investigation process.
- Assist with Safety, Calibration and Preventative Maintenance Programs for the facility.
- Recommends changes in SOP’s, blueprints (GD&T), production standards, and other actions that will improve operations performance.
- Maintain part and lot traceability information throughout the inspection process.
- Conducts frequent internal quality, 6S and safety audits.
- Open to overtime as production requirements require it.
- Ability to make unbiased, data-driven decisions.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 years’ experience demonstrating strong ability to Q/C at a high precision manufacturing. Aerospace experience is preferred.
- Strong Knowledge in ISO9001 quality system and Operations (Machining, Welding, Assembly)
- Advanced experience with CMM operations including setup, programing, and controls. Zeiss Calypso experience is highly desired.
- Must be proficient at reading and understanding written processes, engineering blueprints, safety and work instructions, maintenance instructions, SOPs and job routers.
- Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their relation to inspection.
- Must know how to use inspection equipment such as CMMs, micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and computer (Word & Excel) skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with assemblers, support groups, and management.
- Strong problem-solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the assembly process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
- Highly competent, trustworthy and self-driven. Sincere relationship management skills are a must.
