Our client, a New Jersey based Accounting firm, has an immediate need for an experienced Accountant, to join their winning team in Cresskill.

Our candidate of choice will bring public accounting experience for our expanding peer reviewed practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Income tax review and preparation, tax planning for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and estates & trusts
• All aspects of client responsibility and contact including write-up, tax projections, planning and business consulting
• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Prepares financials, checklists, and/or other related work papers, including schedules, expenditures, and covenant reporting
• Conducts follow-up research to solve problems encountered or reported during normal compilation/compliance activities
• Verifies work papers and reports for accuracy
• Manage preparation, compilation, and review of financial statements for bank partners and other third parties
• Manage compliance with different requirements not limited to U.S. GAAP and TAX BASIS accounting
• Support analytic reviews of consolidated financial information
• Performs special projects as directed
• Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• Candidate must have strong communication, organizational, and analytic skills
• Proficient with mid-tier accounting and tax-related software including Thomson Reuters tax and accounting, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office products.
