The Registrar/Scheduler facilitates the patient flow at the clinic providing services necessary to schedule, registers, and greet patients.
1. Ability to deal tactfully with employees, patients, visitors and the general public.
2. Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Proficient written and verbal English skills required.
4. Some knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD9 coding.
5. Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
6. Knowledge of commercial and managed care payors and terminology.
7. Ability to work in a fast pace environment with frequent interruptions.
8. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and works well under pressure.
9. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Work Experience:
- One year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinical setting.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Training or educational background with medical terminology and familiarity with ICD-10 coding preferred.
License/ Registration/Certification:
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
