The Epic Client Administrator is responsible for ensuring the Core EMR platform demonstrates high reliability, scalability, performance and recovery best practices to support business strategy and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs
Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of our Epic system(s)
Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third party software and peripherals
Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production components
Responding to emergency and after-hours issues
Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
Collaborating with your technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support
Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks
Participating in your change control process for all planned application and technical activities
Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity
Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration
Managing print queues and Epic printing infrastructure
Monitoring network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques
Performing file system management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
4 years of direct Epic ECSA experience with progressive experience is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology required
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Current Epic ECSA certification is required
One or more Third Party Certifications or certification is preferred:
Microsoft MCSA Microsoft MCP Microsoft MCTS Citrix CCA-V Citrix CCA-N VMware VCP-DCV VMware VCP-DTM CompTIA Server+ INDEPC

Powershell scripting
Expertise in the Microsoft Windows server administration
Experience with VMware ESXi
Experience with hardware or software load balancing solutions such as F5 Big-IP
Working knowledge of:
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration SSL/TLS/Certificates Network protocols and functionality including TCP/IP, Active Directory, Domain Name Services, FTP/SCP, and HTTP/S Training and certifications (one or more): Epic Client Systems Administration - BLOB, Business Continuity Access, and Printing Epic Client Systems Administration - MyChart, MyChart Mobile, and EpicCare Link Epic Client Systems Administration Care Everywhere Epic Client Systems Administration Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, and System Pulse
Salary Range:
