  • Direct and indirect intervention including:  Counseling on an individual, group, or family basis
  • Consults with administrators, teachers, parents and other professionals about student problems and appropriate change strategies
  • Networking with school programs and community agencies to provide essential services for families and children
  • Effective casework practice
  • Understanding of the school social work profession including associated laws, ethical issues, professional issues and standards.
  • Understanding of child development, psychopathology, social and environmental conditioning, cultural diversity and family systems
  • Assist with conflict resolution and anger management
  • Assist parent in accessing and utilizing school and community resources, refer parents and students to agencies when appropriate to meet students needs
  • Develop and implement professional development training for educational staff and parents as requested
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling in response to school-wide needs and crises; 
  • Participate in professional activities aimed at current trends and best practices
  • Accurately and appropriately interpret student data
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Bi-lingual/Spanish preferred
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
