The job of the sign language interpreter was established for the purpose/s of facilitating communication between persons who are deaf and/or hard of hearing and others; using sign language to convey coach instruction and intent; assisting students with sports activities; providing voice to sign, sign to voice; participating as a team member for the team.
Requirements:
- Assists deaf and hard of hearing students in after school sports by conveying messages in American Sign Language and voice between the coaches/hearing players and deaf/hard of hearing players.
- Knowledge of sports signs (football, volleyball, and basketball)
- Able to relate the message via sign language and voice during family events for parents and students.Must have a Clearance Arizona IVP fingerprint card.
- Fluent in American Sign Language.
