East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking positive and energetic On-Call Substitutes to work in an Early Childhood Education program for children ages birth to 5. These positions provide coverage in Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms, kitchens, and reception desks for our locations in East Providence, Middletown, Newport, Tiverton, and/or Warren sites. EBCAP provides support for educational goals and On-Call Substitutes have access to a Child Development Credential (CDA) advisor and other training at no cost to the individual.

On-Call Substitutes support teaching teams to provide daily classroom activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschool children. Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, the On-Call Substitute will follow the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards, RI Child Care Center Regulations for Licensing, and RI Department of Education Early Learning Standards. Our Head Start program utilizes the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) approach and the Creative Curriculum to ensure that all children have the opportunity for a high-quality, nurturing, and safe learning experience.

To meet the educational requirements of this position, the On-Call Substitute must have a minimum of a High School diploma or GED certificate with experience in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) setting preferred, OR certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) OR other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
