Position Summary
We are looking for a Systems Architect with a proven record in designing and operationalizing Big Data systems. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in technologies including Kubernetes, Azure, Spark, Airflow, Jenkins, and Docker. You'll play a pivotal role guiding our data strategy and fusing diverse datasets from several internal sources to deliver insights and value to our business.
Your primary focus will be developing the infrastructure to support our custom data science focused Design Technology systems.

The successful candidate will:
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to craft and implement systems that consolidate relational and non-relational data types such as text, image, 3D, NoSQL, and real-time IoT from our internal systems.
- Take the helm in managing, monitoring, and optimizing our data systems; ensuring reliability, performance, and uptime.
- Spearhead the optimization of our infrastructure costs without compromising on quality or performance.
- Implement tools and strategies that improve our development cycles.
- Possess a solid understanding of security practices in data systems. Assist in implementing security measures and collaborate with IT security teams to ensure data protection and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with the Lead Data Scientist and Chief Information Officer, providing technical direction to achieve primary business goals.
- Continuously stay updated with advancements in Big Data technologies and methodologies, maintaining DLR Group at the leading edge of innovation in the AEC industry.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in Big Data system architecture
- Experience designing systems that manage diverse data types (Image, Text, SQL, NoSQL, BIM, IOT)
- Demonstrated success working with Data Scientists and Data Engineers.
- A clear enthusiasm for driving the direction and implementation of innovative solutions.
- Experience in applying technical solutions within a service-oriented company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
- Experience designing systems that manage diverse data types (Image, Text, SQL, NoSQL, BIM, IOT)
- Demonstrated success working with Data Scientists and Data Engineers
- A clear enthusiasm for driving the direction and implementation of innovative solutions.
- Experience in applying technical solutions within a professional services firm
