DDI's Floating Residential Program Manager is responsible for providing coverage and support to our Adult Residential Programs. The Floating Residential Program Manager assists with training, maintains a roster of per diem staff, attends Recruitment events and participates in the hiring and retention processes for new employees.

Salary: $61,464 / year

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, BA/BS preferred.
  • Two years experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Support.
  • Must be flexible.

Responsibilities: 

  • Cover Residential programs in the absence of the Program Manager.
  • Supervise the day to day activities of staff and individuals.
  • Responsible for attending open houses and job fairs and interviewing and hiring.
  • Manage new employees in the applicant tracking system.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Procedures and accurate implementation of procedures in handling crisis situations as they arise.
  • Maintaining staff schedule and approving timesheets in the time and attendance system.
  • Train new staff to work with the individual(s) we serve.
  • Implement Annual Program Plan.
  • Implementation of Behavior Plans, and all other components of the Annual Plan (i.e., medical, nutrition, fitness, socialization, etc.). 
  • Accompany individuals on medical appointments.
  • Complete incident reports and SCIP-R reports as necessary.
  • Advocate for the individuals we serve and implement new programming ideas, exploring the individuals’ interests.
  • Maintain program wide per diem list and work with Program Managers to provide coverage.
  • 24-hour on call for staffing/emergency problems.
  • Performs all job functions of the Community Instructor as needed.  

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of the adults i.e. move/push tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift/move/carry 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to run after an individual up to 500 feet.
  • Must be able to run to a program in need up to 500 feet.
  • Must be able to kneel, twist and bend.
  • Must be able to respond to fire alarms.
  • Must be able to perform all physical SCIP techniques.
