Description

DDI is currently seeking a full-time School Psychologist for our preschool program. Provide counseling, play therapy and social skills training, Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, write and monitor Behavioral Support Plans , Collaborate with teachers to develop classroom wide positive behavioral supports , Provide parent training.  Serve as a member of the evaluation team: assess cognitive functioning, social-emotional, adaptive functioning, perform social histories.  Communicate effectively with team members, parents, districts and service coordinators, Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills, abilities through appropriate continuing education,  in-service training or higher education.

Salary Range: $55,073.20-$66,084.20/year (35 hours/week)

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide therapeutic services according to mandated paperwork (i.e. IEP, IFSP) 
  • Provide parent training and/or counseling
  • Provide required documentation for services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for you
  • Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable and confidential manner
  • Communicate effectively with team members, parents, school districts and service coordinators. 
  • Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education
  • Serve as a member of the evaluation team and complete all required paperwork—assess cognitive functioning, social-emotional development, adaptive functioning etc.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and write behavioral treatment plans
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications: 

  • New York State Certification in School Psychology
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of children
  • Ability to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on  changing table
  • Must be able to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopement
  • Must be able to position self or maneuver classroom to facilitate student instruction in classroom and playground environment
  • Must have ability to follow oral and written directions and detect/respond to fire alarms
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs with railing
