Delta Apparel is seeking a Senior Accountantto join our growing team in Duluth, GA location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing financials such as GL accounts, BS recons, accruals, commissions, credit card coding, fixed assets and manufacturing related activities

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze various balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Investigate and document unusual transactions and variances.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of accounting transactions and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits (internal and external).
  • Coordinate and compile supporting information for various renewals, appraisals, and special projects.
  • Investigate and propose solutions to various accounting issues.
  • Assist in process improvements in the accounting department.
  • Coordinate with other departments to solve various accounting issues.
  • Document the execution of key and secondary internal controls on a monthly basis.
  • Provide support for preparation of financial and cost accounting reports.
  • Calculation of weekly Borrowing Base for Bank.
  • Provide department managers with monthly SG&A reports and detailed expenses.
  • Support team members and cross train duties to assume responsibilities during absence

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting
  • 3+ years accounting experience 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (preferred)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Must have strong/advanced Excel skills
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and ability to apply basic accounting concepts
  • Detail oriented with strong work ethic

Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.

Experience

Required

Two (2) years accounting experience. Knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes Oxley. Audit experience. Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
