Description

The primary objective of the Warehouse Associate-Cherry Picker Operator is to ensure the proper pulling of pallets, cases, and individual units for customer orders in a safe and efficient manner.  Job descriptions are subject to change with the demands of the business.:

Essential Functions:  

Pulling Orders

  1. Pull orders according to specifications utilizing paper documents, RF scanners and specialized lift equipment as required.
  2. Put away merchandise
    1. Pick orders according to customers’ specifications.
    2. Pack orders for shipment ensuring correct items are in the containers.
  3. Utilize a number of techniques that will ensure an efficient process of work orders     

General:

  1. Perform all duties as requested by management in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
  2. Trained and able to perform all functions of the job.
  3. Assist in cycle counting as needed
  4. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  5. Know and understand the policies and procedures of Delta Apparel.
  6. Trained and able to operate all machinery related to performing the functions of the job (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker, scanner etc.)
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1.        Lifting and carrying up to 55 lbs.

2.        Constant visual and hearing attention.

3.        Proper footwear (non-skid soles) not open toe or back.

4.        Basic mathematics skills.

5.        Basic verbal and written communication skills with ability to read and write English.

6.        Work within a team of people performing different and/or the same tasks.

7.        Work overtime as assigned.

8.        Sense of safety awareness.

Working Conditions

1.        This is a stand up job with walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching above the shoulders, twisting, crawling, and kneeling as needed.

2.        Physical environment includes noise, heat, cold, dust, dirt, and fumes.

3.        Working in high traffic areas.
