Delta Apparel Inc., is a multi-disciplined leader, manufacturer and distributor of apparel in the Wholesale, Direct to Consumer and Retail channels.  We are seeking an energetic and motivated, results-oriented Channel Sales Director – Retail to help grow our market share across the apparel category and deliver outstanding support to our retail partners.

We are a financially healthy and growing entrepreneurial, vertical apparel manufacturer with an extensive portfolio of products, brands and licenses, selling and distributing to many retail chains and e-commerce platforms.  This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual with mid-level experience to join a great team and advance your career into a Senior role over time.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Must be a creative thinker, fast learner, self-starter, relationship builder, and possess the ability to open and develop new key retail accounts
  • Maintain and grow existing retail relationships with large retail chains to deliver on and exceed sales budgets
  • Responsible for the retail development budget of the account and ensuring the revenue goals are being achieved
  • Work with retail partners to develop our brands and presence, including product positioning, placement, pricing, and promotion. Also identify and vet out private label opportunities as they present themselves
  • Identify and report on market trends and niches to direct product development efforts
  • Analyze POS data to create and drive sales and inventory opportunities with retailers and convey complex analytics into actionable tasks
  • Cultivate and foster strong working relationships with retail buyers and replenishment teams
  • Apply financial acumen and analytical skills to build a successful product/profit strategy

Experience

  • 5+ years of Retail Development experience and industry knowledge with a proven track record selling key major national retail chains – preferably within apparel, activewear or textiles categories

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, written and presentation skills with a positive “can do, go get’em” attitude. Must be an opportunity creator and a “hustler” with a strong work ethic.
  • A+ level fluency with Excel, Powerpoint and an overall high level of proficiency with all other Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced abilities with RetailLink, SPS Commerce and/or other retailer-specific POS data systems
  • Ability to drive sales and lead within a team environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or substantive work experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Up to 50% travel
