HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, repairing equipment malfunctions, and implementing preventive maintenance measures to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, lubricating, and cleaning machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to identify signs of wear and tear or other abnormalities.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless operations.
  • Comply with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems as needed.
  • Be regularly informed of industry developments, best practices in maintenance techniques, and technologies.
  • Coordinate with contracted maintenance personnel for outside maintenance or project needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Plant Manager.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance-related fields preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required, depending on the job requirements.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy objects, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Depending on the needs of the site, this job alternates between an indoors and outdoors setting.
  • Regularly exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
