RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND SCOPE OF WORK

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay desires to contract with Independent Contractors to meet the variable demands of Crisis Center clients requiring clinical services. The Independent Contractor herein agrees to devote the necessary amount of time, energy and attention required to satisfactorily complete the following duties/responsibilities:

Independent Contractor will engage in the following:

  1. Provide assessment and psychotherapy for individuals. The primary concentration will be on those affected by trauma, including but not limited to: juvenile and adult rape survivors; adult incest survivors; domestic violence survivors; human trafficking survivors; victims of other crimes. Therapy may be in individual, family or group settings.
  2. Participate in case reviews with Clinical Program Manager or designee of the Crisis Center.
  3. Independent Contractor may attend topical in-service trainings as needed for clinical quality assurance; however, attendance is not required.
  4. The Crisis Center will provide written communication via email regarding changes impacting the Independent Contractor’s scope of work. Independent Contractor is also able to attend trainings offered at the Crisis Center on a voluntary basis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess Florida licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD).
  • Maintain good standing with Florida State Licensure, and any specialty accreditation, through the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling and the Florida Department of Health or applicable governing body.
  • Participate in a level 2 background screening with eligibility approved by the Department of Children and Families prior to the effective date of the contract.
  • Complete the following trainings and provide training certificates prior to the effective date of the contract.

  • Provide the Crisis Center training certificates for funder required training within thirty (30) days from the effective date of the contract.
    • Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) available at http://tfcbt.musc.edu
    • Florida Council Against Sexual Violence Advocacy Core Training (ACT) available at http://www.fcasv.org/training/act-training
    • Department of Children and Families Serving Customers who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing available at http://www.myfamilies.com/about-us/services-deaf-and-hard-hearing/training
    • The Florida Certification Board Cultural and Linguistic Competency Training available at http://fcbonline-ed.mrooms3.net/
  •  Complete ongoing training on an annual basis as required by funders.
    • 10 hours of training on child abuse
    • 8 hours of training on sexual violence
  • Evening availability for sessions is a plus!
