Job Description
Please note: This is a temporary, 4-6 month duration position at Cricut.
Technicians play a critical role on cross functional teams by supporting the engineering team with data collection and analysis.
What You’ll Do
- Autonomously perform technical work to support engineers developing materials for use in Cricut’s machine ecosystems.
- Prepare test specimens, set up equipment, and perform testing or analysis following standard test procedures to assure safe practice and valid results.
- Collect data utilizing various measurement devices such as scales, calipers, and universal test machines.
- Perform calculations as necessary.
- Prepare reports of test data and results in accordance with specified procedures.
- Maintain files, logs, and records of past experiments and/or tests for future references.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment, ensuring lab equipment is in acceptable order using 5S processes.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- College or post-high school training preferred
- Ability to understand engineering requirements, safety requirements, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, etc.) are required.
- Basic understanding about statistical terminologies (mean, median, standard deviation, variance etc.) a plus
- Experience with MS Office, especially basic functions in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
- Experience working in Six Sigma environment preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must work in our South Jordan for entire 20-hour work schedule. Hours must be completed in a minimum of 5-hour increments. Schedule coordinated with manager at time of hire.
